Polaris WiFi restoration (offline firmware installation)

From Benro Polaris support:

Please follow the steps to update your firmware;
1 Click the link and download the newest Polaris firmware package to your micro sd card;
2 Unzip the package you downloaded and then keep the file in the card, delete the first zip;
3 Insert your sd card into the Polaris and turn it on;
4 The Polaris will be updated automatically after you turning it on, be patient and wait for the update completing;
5 After the update, please take the sd card out and then delete the firmware package from the sd card;
6 After these steps, you can insert the sd card without the firmware package into Polaris and all set.

(Remark from Admin: I uploaded a local copy (Version ? file says 1.0.0.33.), just in case it is removed from Google-Drive. But please be aware the current "online" version is 4.0.0.40. This means this offline version is older. But once you have App connection you can upgrade online)

I just tested this version. It works fine. If you face issues please ensure that you format your SD card to FAT32 first , before you copy the folder onto it.
On Windows you will need to do this via command line:

format /FS:FAT32 G: /q

*where G: is the drive you want to address. Be sure to use the correct one

You can easily then upgrade to the current version online afterwards.

I am unable to use the app to upgrade my just-received Polaris. I've tried several times with various configurations (cellular off, on, off-then-on) and with an iPhone and an iPad. The update gets to between 60% and 98% done and then a message saying "Failed to Upgrade" appears with a "Confirm" button.

My Polaris arrived with firmware version 4.0 and the latest app requires version 5.0.10 so I can't even try it out.

Could someone (Sockeye, I'm looking at you ) post a version of FwPkt.zip that has contains the 5.0 version of the firmware?

Upgrade problem *SOLVED*:

Turns out the microSD card I was using was older and, I believe, too slow.

The manual (https://www.benro-polaris.com/product/p ... anual.html) says:

This product recommends the use of microSD cards with transfer speeds up to UHS- I Speed Grade 3 (U3) rating

So I went and purchased one that's UHS-I U3: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7M6K35

And the upgrade to 5.0 took immediately!

Only the Polaris / the App itself is linked to the server with the most current firmware. (I'd love to know the direct link)

That's for the cell version… what about the wifi only version?

Where can i download latest firmware for wifi+cellular?

I am having issue where the wifi is not discoverable after first usage. I suspect the firmware was not upgraded successfully.

Help is very much appreciated.
